ABOUT Us
Association of Young Azerbaijani Friends of Europe (AYAFE) is a national, non-governmental, non-profit, non-political youth organization.
Being a group of students from different universities in Baku, the founders of the organization were involved in different kinds of youth activities in Azerbaijan organized by the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan. Inspired from this work and having felt the need for establishing the network of coordination and organization of voluntary activities in Azerbaijan the Association was established in November 1997. Long time we discussed how to call our organization and incidentally we got a letter from the European Network of Voluntary Organizations with the address to: Dear Young Azerbaijani Friends. On this background and having in mind the future alignment and integration of our country to Europe we decided to name the new-born “child” as AYAFE and it passed the official registration in April 1998.
Main objectives of the organization are to contribute to the strengthening of the civil society in Azerbaijan and the process of Azerbaijan’s European integration, propagate and introduce Azerbaijan to young people from other European countries and the world by promoting voluntary youth movement and organizing voluntary activities in Azerbaijan and carrying out information and representative exchanges with international youth organizations.
Aims and objectives:
To promote Azerbaijan among the youth of Europe.
To study the political and economic structures of Europe and promote them among the Azerbaijani youth.
To work for establishing and developing friendship relations of Azerbaijani youth with the youth of other European countries;
To implement exchange programs with different international and national youth organizations functioning in other European countries.
To be represented in international youth NGOs functioning in European level.
To promote voluntary youth movement in Azerbaijan;
To promote human rights and democracy and be active in strengthening the civil society in Azerbaijan.
